Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learntin the progression from it to the full product?

When you look at both of my products, it's really clear to see how different they are. In the way the images are shot ( music magazine now has a conventional medium shot) both still feature a 3 colour scheme. But my new magazine now also included a QR code, to direct people to the digital version of the magazine.

What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing The Product?

Resubmission work:

How did you attract your audience?

I have attracted my audience by the plug! It is an enticing offer, that makes the magazine worth buying for the target audience. Reader profiles told me on average only 52% of the readership would be in full time employment, so chances are people would want to pay the reasonable monthly £2.50 to be in for the chance of winning a ticket worth over £200. Also the wide variety of artists, including new and old is what music fans want. I wanted a bright colour, but not red because it's been seen loads of times  before on previous music magazines so I went for coral. I think that even though it looks pinky, I don't think it puts men off. In the modern day things are much more equal and even though there would be a higher percentage of men reading my magazine, the fact that the colour coral is there would not put then off. It's also balanced with a really dark grey and off white. Which doesn't make the whole theme to brash or tacky, in my opinion. I also wanted a clean feeling to the magazine and not tacky. Which I think appeals to audiences today, where minimal fashion is appealing.

Here I have completed some audience feedback to see if the way I have targeted and addressed my audience is working!

What kind of media institution might distribute your media products?

Please read the slide share to learn more.

Tesco is the sort of place which I would want to sell my magazine. Everyone I know goes to super markets like Tesco, and it would be really easy for them to pick up the magazine on there regular shop. Instead of having to go out of their way to buy the product, it is right there on the shelf there infront of you.

In my own research I found this website; http://www.mynewsagent.co.uk it allowes people to subscribe to an huge list of magazines and then get them delivered to their local newsagent to be picked up. With 19,970 newsagents listed. This would mean my magazine would be advertised to a massive group of people and they'd be able to subscribe immedietly too it without much fuss.

How does your media product represent particular social groups?

Some short go animates to answer this part of my evaluation. Part one. Media Stereotypes by Rachel Hannah on GoAnimate
Part two. Part 2. by Rachel Hannah on GoAnimate

I have chosen artists, to include features about who are relevant to the genre and that my target audience would be interested in. I stereotyped my target audience by looking at similar music magazines such as Q and NME. I think that it was important to draw people in by including a variety of artists but also not keep them all too similar to each other.

DPS construction progession

Resubmission Work:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/69130106@N03/6286181785/ doodles taken from this image.

Here you can see how my double page is built up over time and each feature is added individually.
The introduction to the article started off black, but I decided to change it to the pink colour so that it would stand out as a part of information the reader would look at first.
Page numbers are now added at this part of the construction, the title is across the entire of the page.

I decided to change the title to be on the left hand side only, this was to work along side the main image I was going to add onto the double page spread.

As you can see here the double page spread is now starting to look more similar to the finished product, however the doodles are not yet properly edited. You can see I have used layers throughout this process to be able to put the main image over the top of the doodles to make the work look cleaner.

Double Page Spread Second Draft

Resubmission Work:

This is the first draft I made for double page spread. As a starting point It was okay - but I got feeback that the article should not go over the centre line and it would be more difficult to read - it is also unconventional to have the writing over 2 the two pages.

I also learnt from this fist draft that the image was a bit to similar to the one on the front so using a different image would make the double page spread more interesting for the reader.

Front cover

I decided to change my magazine front cover, after I received feedback from my teacher. As you can see I added the price, and included more stories and also put stories on the left hand side of the  and made the background brighter because I think it looked better. It also is improved by looking fuller and more packed with stories. The importance of the price and the fuller front cover was what would make it look more professional and realistic.

By moving my plug above the bar code, I freed up space to but in the '5 people who changed music' and the 'Special look into the future of music technology'. I also put the social media things on top of each other because I think it looks better.

DPS First Draft

 Resubmission Work:
This is the first ever draft I have created for my double page spread. It was basic but I started to get the feel for what I needed to create for a successful product. It also made me realise I needed to use photoshop a lot more to make it look realistic.
